Summary of what I know so far a day after the update came out:
To become a CEO, you need to purchase an office. You can own only one, and the cheapest is $1 million. Other than the office, there is no asset requirement like VIP to become CEO. You can retire and start a new contract without a cooldown, to allow yourself to go into passive mode while in free-mode.
To do Special Cargo missions, you need to purchase at least one warehouse. This is done from the CEO's computer. You can own up to five. The cheapest is $250K.
From the CEO computer, you can purchase cargo. 1 crate loads are the make the highest profit, but take more time.
Once you purchase the cargo, you and your hired associates are tasked to go out and get it. There's several different scenarios how the pickup can go down, but you either bring a special delivery vehicle (which is buffed against bomb attacks) or an object (which you will have to use your own transportation). Scenarios I have seen include chasing down the seized items, or having to fight rival NPCs for it. You may get chased by NPC pursurers.
After a time delay, the rest of the session is alerted to your activities, and will get money and RP for destroying your cargo. You cannot play special cargo missions in private sessions.
If you deliver the cargo to your warehouse, the CEO doesn't get paid, but can later deliver these at a profit.
To start a new pickup mission, you will need to return to your office and use the computer there.
In you warehouse, you can use the computer there to start a delivery mission. You will be given a vehicle to deliver your cargo, either a Brickade, a Titan, a Cuban 600, or a Tug. These delivery vehicles can be upgraded at the workbench in your warehouse. Deliver cargo without other players destroying it, and you make a profit. Larger loads make a higher rate of profit.

Big downside: It's very repetitive. I did not even do 10 buy missions in total since the update came out, but most of them were the same thing over and over. Get into a slow car, drive it home. I had way more fun with it when E&OC came out, because Hostile Takeover was only one thing you could do and you always mixed up your activites. And yeah, you won't get rich with it, the update cost me 25 mil and I only started an enterprise with one character. It will take ages until I fill up my warehouses. I don't like bitching about payout and prices usually, but it's still unbalanced. You should get more money considering your investment costs, risks, and of course opportunity costs. What are people doing now? Seen the green invites? They all do Heists - again - to afford running a business which will never pay you more than Heists. I've have the opposite impression, that there is a lot of diversity in the special cargo pickup missions. First, the cargo pickup may not be a delivery vehicle, some of the scenarios involve going after the cargo, destroying the vehicle and picking up the cargo. The only pickup mission I played with you involved killing the enemies and destroying Marquis out at sea to get it, while we used the mission provided Dinghy to do it, it could have been done in a Buzzard - one organization member would have had to jump out and get the cargo, then the helicopter hovers over the water to pick him up, then a delivery to the warehouse. In one scenario, an NPC ran away with the cargo in a Valkyrie. I had to get the company Buzzard, shoot it down, then kill the NPC has he parachuted out to get the cargo. I've seen several different cargo delivery vehicles: Rumpo Custom, Paradise, armored Police Van, regular Burrito with a livery, armored truck to name a few. I've seen several different pickup scenarios: kill enemies surrounding the pickup vehicle; chase down the seized/stolen cargo pickup vehicle and kill the driver to take it back; kill enemies for the seller before he reveal the location of the cargo; and in one scenario, there were 4 possible cargo vehicles that had to be checked out -- it was the first one we checked out, so it was not predestined to be the last one. I'm sure that I've not seen all of the different pickup scenarios yet, but I have seen a few repeats. I had one scenario that was VERY interesting for fans of the Slamvan: The cargo vehicle was at the Lost Clubhouse in East Vinewood, and you had to kill Lost to get at it. However, the Lost had a few Slamvans parked there, and we were pursued by Slamvans after taking the cargo vehicle (an armored truck). These were not the Slamvan pickup trucks, but instead the actual original slamvan as a real van like in the Lost and the Damned story mode DLC for GTA IV. So I think this variant is in this update, and hopefully be released for sale sometime in the near future. As for maximizing profit - do the 1 crate cargo pickups as quickly as possible, then do the large delivery shipments with a full crew of decent players. The rate of profit is really dependent on how quickly they can get done and other factors like the successful delivery rate bonus, any profit numbers given by players that have had the update for a few hours and are still figuring out how to best do special cargo missions like the rest of us is pure BS. Regarding Jet griefing, you have noticed that the special cargo delivery vehicles are ridiculously over-buffed? It takes about 3 direct hits from a jet before getting destroyed. This does allow room for counter strategies - getting under bridges, narrow alleys, in tunnels, hiding in tunnels until some one or two in your organization can get to their own jets and either take em out or keep 'em busy. (You can't attack the cargo and take out the spawning defense jet at the same time). If you know your map well, then you can drive in between safe spots every time the jet makes a pass. If the hydra hovers, take it out with a mini-gun. If the cargo is not a delivery vehicle, then calling in the Insurgent should insure that it gets there safely. If the jet griefer is really good, then do a short contact mission or race with your organization and respawn together in a new session.

I know that those missions exist, for some reason I had to steal a cargo vehicle five times in a row, definitely decreased the fun. I have critism for two things. Why have we to select the warehouse first? Being able to deliver to every warehouse you own would give you an advantage. You could make strategic buys, warehouses all over the city would make sense. And the city, that's the second thing. Blaine County gets so neglected. More than one office and warehouses all over the map would allow you to open franchises. Buy doing everything in the city/southern part of the map, they make it easier for people to grief.

I agree -- the only reason I think of for the limitation is that some of your warehouses may not be able to hold the shipment, but if that is the case, they shouldn't show up as a delivery target. Other than that, there would be no auto-gps for getting the delivery back, unless it showed you the closest warehouse. Mos def. That's the only reason I can stand to play in public sessions is that I spend most of my time in Blaine County anyway, since the griefers and psychoidiots usually stick to the city. I don't know why players like to stick to the city -- every garage is a 10 car garage if you know how to handle vehicle storage, and the traffic is much lighter in the country. It's much easier and enjoyable to haul ass in a T20 down Route 68 through traffic than it is down Del Perro or Vinewood Blvd. I wouldn't even dream of trying to get around the city by Slamvan, but it's doable on Blaine Co Roads.

The Lost SlamVan has been in the files for a long time now, it was actually brought into freemode for a bit using glitches (my friend owned one) before being blacklisted
As for driving a Slam around the city, nearly always do love my slammer prob my fave thing to drive for the challenge, a close second would be the futo !

Has anyone found a way to destroy crate objects that have been (temporarily) abandoned but are not in special vehicles? Is the only way to wait, and destroy the vehicle that they pick it up in?

Regarding profit from these mission, I did a 1 crate special item pickup then a delivery. $25K to buy it, then $125K to sell it plus a rival players bonus.
I'm not sure how often the special items are offered, but if it is often enough, it might make it a bit more profitable in the long run. Saving them up, then delivering them with a good crew might be well worth it.

There a 6 Special Items in the game: 1. Ornamental Egg: Purchase Value: $25,000. Sale Value: $125,000. 2. Golden Minigun: Purchase Value: $23,000. Sale Value: $115,000. 3. Large Diamond: Purchase Value: $27,000. Sale Value: $135,000. 4. Rare Hide: Purchase Value: $21,000. Sale Value: $105,000. 5. Film Reel: Purchase Value: $23,000. Sale Value: $95,000. 6. Rare Pocket Watch: Purchase Value: $30,000. Sale Value: $150,000.

So I decided to get OCD about my warehouses. I have one character that owns 2 warehouses, one is going to be for narcotics, medical supplies, alcohol and tobacco, and animal materials, while the other will be for hard goods: electronics, arts and antiques, guns and ammo, ect. It looks like they spent a bit of time of the visual representations of the stored crates.
Now to figure out when or how to change the crates being offered for sale from the CEO computer.

I thought this pickup scenario was clever:

Planning to do the same thing, but one for Special Items (I hear they pay even better when sold in bulk) & one for everything else. Now to figure out when or how to change the crates being offered for sale from the CEO computer. Yes, That's what I want to know!

So how does one get offered Special Crates - do I need a medium or large warehouse?
I did two full small warehouses runs yesterday (16 items) and one of only 3 items but no call yet.
Also I have heard but not confirmed yet - is it true one of these missions has a Chariot Romero Hearse spawn, does anyone know which product would trigger this as I would like to play this one but so far I've not come across it yet.
I particularly like this new work in free roam, it's very challenging esp with everyone seeming to go after your goods and I think it is my new focus for awhile along with the VIP work, it all really fits well with my gaming style at the moment.

I saw a new scenario today. On a one crate pickup, went to the top of Mt Haan (Vinewood Sign mountain) and two gangs were shooting it out. Just waited for them to kill each other, then when the few that were left turned their guns on me, I killed them and took off with the Journey delivery vehicle.
