Speaking of warehouse vehicle upgrades, since you own multiple small warehouses, is the upgrade a one time thing (buy once, get for all)? Or do you have to upgrade every warehouse's vehicles separately? I'm pretty sure that it is global.

The most problematic, for me at least, is making the air drops solo where there are enemy NPC helicopters at each drop spot. ... The helicopters don't spawn until the drop spots spawn, and they don't spawn until you get in the plane and the cargo becomes visible on radar. This apparently is not true. I saw an NPC Buzzard hovering over my garage on R68, so I used an RPG and took it out to be a nice guy (err, girl character). I watched the map, and sure enough, watched a CEO drive to the airport, get in a plane, then the cargo became visible on the radar. So it may be possible to get in your Buzzard, clear out any NPC buzzard hovering in the Vinewood Hills/Zancudo Valley/Senora Desert area, then proceed with the delivery in the Cuban.

This just came up on the Rockstar Newswire: Further Adventures in Finance and Felony: How to Become a Criminal KingpinR* response to why you can't go lone wolf and play these in a private session: Well that means no chance of us ever getting to do this on our terms then, basically they want free roam to be a war zone and are making it official with this statement. That's fine if you have firends or people you find out are good players but I'm afraid I've been burned too many times in a public lobby, only ever would hire friends to be on my organisation. Since I am planning a sale session tonight with a friend I will test your theory of trying to find the enemy choppers before making any of the delivery runs and see if I can take them out before getting in the plane.

Well that means no chance of us ever getting to do this on our terms then, basically they want free roam to be a war zone and are making it official with this statement. It was always a war zone, now there is a reason for war rather than mostly being pointless. I've spent more time than I should going after destroyers of my cargo hoping to teach them a lesson on what happens if they fuck with my money. Isn't that the point of a multi-player game? The ones that do good should be the ones that make friends and form effective organizations rather than the anti-social kill-everyone lone wolves.

Yes that's how it should work in theory but not my experiences of GTA Online, the friends I have on my friends list (yourself included) always seem more effective than observing some random player in a public lobby, I hope that will happen some day during my time in the game but so far no signs. As it stands I did my first solo cargo delivery run last night with no drama, had two planes of 10 crates to drop, no NPC resistance/attacks so was an easy delivery. I'm not really sure I see why I should invest in more than a small warehouse though as filling up the bigger ones seems not worth the expense given time needed to stock up/sell etc.

The player bonus for delivering it in a mostly full lobby is going to be substantial. Owning 3 large warehouses is a lot more useful than owning a single gold plated Luxor Deluxe, when you have that much money to spend. However, as a practical matter, I think the chance that your warehouse gets attacked by NPCs might be related to how full it is.

Interesting reply considering I have all four characters own the Luxor Deluxe and the Swift Deluxe.
Hopefully after the summer I'll get some time during my August holiday to actually properly play CEO work for a couple of days in succession, problem just now is time is so limited and when I do get round to doing jobs bedtime beckons...

So I had a "Kill Player off Radar" daily objective. Usually, I look for a bounty, sneak up on them an kill 'm for this. (I avoid asking friends to be voluntary victims) Now that there's special cargo, it's a legitimate target. I saw one on the map, chased it down, and it turned out to be a Titan making deliveries. It went down in flames, and I got a lousy $2K, some ammo and RP, and my daily objective done. I did kinda feel sick about it, since it was a Titan delivery and represented a lot of work to acquire. On the other hand, the fool did the delivery by himself with no backup. So I justify it as a teachable moment.

Well after almost a month I finally got a call to say Special Item available while I was in an invite only session - great programming R*!!!
I also had it happen again when in a public empty lobby but when I got to the comptuer - nix - denada - nothing!
Have both incidents saved on video so am half tempted to submit a ticket of the issues but I think they probably have enough evidence it's not working correctly at the moment.
This is what frustrates me the most, when I want to do things in game and you can't because of errors.

So here is my current strategy on working Special Cargo:
So my characters that are in the business own 5 warehouses, or are attempting to get there. Each warehouse is for certain types of cargo.
So, when I'm playing by myself, I usually do 1 cargo pickups if the lobby is aggressive or full, 2 crate pickups if the lobby is sparsely populated or peaceful. 3 crate pickups can be a hassle to do by yourself if the cargo gets split up, and with the cut in profit margin, I'm not messing with them unless I have associates.
The cargo builds up in each warehouse. When the warehouse gets full, I'll deliver by myself if I've got no friends to help. I'll do the full load if I lucked out and lagged into a lobby by myself, otherwise I'll do a one vehicle delivery (I think the threshold is 6 crates), leaving the warehouse somewhat full. The money is to be made when you've got trusted associates willing to put in work, fill 'em up to capacity, then ship 'em out.
In general, I mix up the special cargo pickups when I'm by myself. If someone is stalking you, you may be a little too predictable if you run cargo pickups back to back. The multiple warehouses also help, since an enemy won't be able to predict which warehouse you'll be headed to.

I must say I like CEO work a lot, I did 5 sales so far (small warehouse, 2 full loads & a special item were today) & I decided to buy a large warehouse soon.
I have few tips from my time with it so far.
1) If you are not in a lobby by yourself, use an explosive-resistant vehicle for the pick ups ... Although Helicopters are faster, they are easy targets.
2) watch the NPCs for any suspicious activity ... Think of them as hurricane\tornado detectors ... Only for trolls.
3) always check your six & plan your routes ahead.
4) in busy lobbies, stick to one crate only.
5) don't shoot the Police Transporter's windshield ... Wait for it to stop at a traffic light & steal it like you would any other vehicle.
6) "Anyone Not In This Room Is a Potential Shooter".
7) Alternate between CEO & VIP work.
