"Business Is Good & Business Is Bad, On One Hand We've Got More Orders Than We Can Possibly Imagine … And On The Other, I'll Be Surprised If We Are Not Killed In The Next 48 Hours"
Here's a breakdown of the Smuggling Business.
The Hangar:
There are 5 Hangars to choose from, 2 in LSIA & 3 in Fort Zancudo ranging from $1.2 million to $3.25 million. And they can be purchased from the Maze Bank Foreclosure website.
Hangar upgrades & renovations follow the same pattern as the Executive Offices, nothing is essential to your smuggling operation & you can skip the Living Quarters if you have the Garage on Exceptionalists Dr east of LSIA or Route 68 south of Fort Zancudo or simply just move your Yacht to a spot nearby.
The Hangar's daily fee is $300 for the building + $50 for JohnnyOnTheSpot + $50 per Aircraft stored in the Hangar, it can't be avoided.
Notes:
1. Owning a Hangar allows you to store your Pegasus aircrafts, which converts them into Personal Vehicles that can be summoned from the Vehicle section in the Interaction Menu & delivered to "Appropriate Areas" near you.
2. The maximum amount of aircraft stored at the Hangar is 20.
3. Purchasing a Hangar at Fort Zancudo grants you a low level access to the base, you can drive inside the base through the gates or fly over it, as long as you don't use your weapons or steal a vehicle, the Military will not attack you. And stealing a military vehicle is reduced to a 2-star offense ... However, entering the Control Tower or the Vehicle Workshop remains a 4-star offense.
4. New Pegasus aircraft delivery spots have been added to both LSIA & Fort Zancudo. And Johnny T can bring your car near your hangar.
5. The Hangar has ammo for the Homing Launcher & Heavy Sniper.
6. Selling\Removing an Aircraft from the Hangar counts as a vehicle sale & thus subjected to the 48 minutes rule.
7. Your Pegasus vehicles are separate from your Hangar-stored vehicles.
8. The Hangar comes with a complementary Cuban800.
9. New complimentary vehicles are now available near every Hangar. At LSIA you get a unique Utility White Rumpo van. At Fort Zancudo you get a unique Matte Green Mesa that will not result in a wanted level upon entering it.
Hangar daily fees range between $501 & $700 plus an additional $50 for Johnny T as it counts as a Garage facility & an additional $50 for every aircraft stored in it.
You can watch the introduction video here, starring Mark Crowne, Ron Jakowski, Charlie & 2 FAA Agents.
The Workshop:
The workshop is an additional add-on to Hangar that allows you to customize your Pegasus aircrafts. It can be purchased for $1.15 Million, but it’s not essential to the business side of things.
Aircraft introduced with Smuggler's Run (1.41) have Armor, Engine, JATO, Countermeasures, Weapons & Paint\Livery upgrades.
Any Aircraft that predates 1.41 can only be repainted, with the exception of the Deluxe twins.
The Shop is run by a former US Air Force mechanic called Charlie.
The Business:
Anyone can purchase a Hangar & start the business. You can be a CEO & have access to all the SecuroServ vehicles & abilities or you can be an MC president & have 7 people in your crew. You don't even to be one of the two, all you need is a $50,000 in your bank account to become a VIP! ($50k is the new threshold for VIP, instead of 1 Million Dollars)
Smuggling is an evolution of the Special Cargo work. You source a Freight Cargo from Free Trade Shipping Co website using the Hangar's computer & collect it. This time you don't pay for packages & the amount of Freight Cargos during a single mission depends on how many people in your Organization\Club with 4 being the maximum amount. And the maximum amount of Freight Cargos you can hold in your Hangar is 50 Crates.
You can choose what type of Cargo you want to source, you can choose from:
Narcotics.
Chemicals.
Medical Supplies.
Animal Materials.
Art & Antiques.
Jewelry & Gemstones.
Tobacco & Alcohol.
Counterfeit Goods.
Mission difficulty depends on what kind of Freight Cargo you are sourcing, with Narcotics being the hardest & Counterfeit Goods the easiest.
The Multiplier bonus is different from Special Cargo & can only be had when your stock of specific Cargo type reaches a certain threshold, its calculated like this:
• For Counterfeit Goods & Alcohol & Tobacco (easy) you get a 5% bonus for 5 crates & it goes up an additional 5% for every 5 crates until it reaches a 50% bonus for 50 crates totaling $750,000.
• For Animal Material, Art & Antiques, & Jewelry & Gemstone (medium) you get a 12% bonus for 10 crates & it goes up an additional 12% for every 10 crates until it reaches a 60% bonus for 50 crates totaling $800,000.
• For Chemicals, Narcotics, & Medical Supplies (hard) you get a 35% bonus for 25 crates & it goes up to a 70% bonus for 50 crates totaling $850,000.
In order to get the bonus, you have to sell the specific Cargo with bonus only in order to get it, otherwise you lose the bonus.
To almost guarantee a single vehicle during the sale, you must sell at 10 crates, but you might still get 3 Havoc helicopters.
The delivery vehicles are an Alpha-Z1, Bombushka, Cargobob, Havoc, Seabreaze, Skylift & an Ultralight.
Notes:
1. Ron gets a 2.5% cut from every sale you make.
2. Once You deliver all the packages in a sale, Ron will ask you to bring back the aircraft if you could so they break it for parts. Its not necessary & it will not affect your payment, but you'll receive 500 RP for bringing it back, otherwise it'll self-destruct to "destroy all evidence".
3. Rival Organizations can come after your Freight Cargo for Cash & RP.
4. Rival Organizations can steal your Freight Cargo & Take it to their own Hangar.
5. The rumor that destroying rival Organizations' Freight Cargo increases the value of your stock is False.
6. The rumor that you can't make sales in a Solo-Public lobby is also False.
7. You can destroy the trucks carrying the Freight Cargo, pick up the Freight Cargo & deliver it to the warehouse using any vehicle you want.
