Just a note about game mechanics, scaldy78 and me discovered that picking up a heart bottle even though you don't have not lost any lives as a body guard, will give you an extra life. I'm don't know if there is an upper limit.

There is a new game mechanic for Entourage, the Target can set a waypoint and the bodyguards see it.
Also, I think that the Target is less buffed than the original version, which I think is a good thing.

Well I played one match of this, Entourage III I think and I came away less than impressed, at no point was the VIP ever getting close to the safe zone.
To be fair the group of attackers were very organised and basically had the VIP/bodyguards pinned down in the train yard and backup lurking on the street for those of use who were trying to get on the other side of them but there are a few things about the respawn that I dislike.
I had several instances on being a bodyguard where I had one of the attackers spawn immediately behind me and therefore unable to react and instant loss of a life.
Perhaps my imagination but the attackers have grenade launchers? I seemed to hear a lot of explosives and with the area effect it's quite easy to be killed.
It also seems that if you are on the bodyguard side and become separated from the group you are less likely to succeed but in reality the match was just PVP no actual teamwork on the VIP/Bodyguard side.
I was also conned out of the money because I got kicked from the match so never got any of my $$$/RP so it was not a good experience.
This is part of my current problem with adversary, I never seem to land in good matches but maybe one day I will get to play these properly.

Well I played one match of this, Entourage III I think and I came away less than impressed, at no point was the VIP ever getting close to the safe zone. Usually, I sent an insulting message to those types of targets rhetorically asking them why they play to lose. They are playing for meaningless KDR rather than playing to win. Bodyguards get deathmatch radar, but Targets see all the Assassins on the map. If you are playing cooperatively with a Target on the mic, they can warn you. Nope, only the Target has a grenade launcher. Assassins have no pickups, but Bodyguards get 2 grenades and 1 RPG - plus what they can pickup. For assassins to win, they need not to be wussies really need to push their unlimited lives advantage by putting as many bullets into the target as they can before they get taken out. The target really can't fuck around confronting assassins using that strategy, because they eventually will be taken out, especially since the health and armor advantage for the targets has been nerfed.

I decided to give it another chance last night. I still stand by my original conclusion... 2x$ be damned.
I was a bodyguard once again, I helped the target reach the extraction point with 3 minutes to spare... But this time, the target decided to play Deathamatch & the time ran out. Same with the second round... I was the target & made it to the drop.
I made a cool $119k, but never again.

Well I have reviewed my overall thoughts on Entourage having played a couple more rounds on Sunday as I finally ended up in a match that I could actually observe what was going on.
The first two rounds the attackers had the upper hand basically going on the aggressive approach and killed all the bodyguards straight away thus leaving the VIP on his own.
The location was at Vespucci Beach Canals (Entourage II I think?).
However round three there appeared to be a brilliant understanding in silence by us bodyguards and the VIP and none of us moved from the starting point on the map and took cover, this confused the attackers and what I noticed was suddenly they were running about and we could see the red dots on the map and sure enough we started pummelling them and as per the title of another adversary mode Inch by Inch we began to make our way forwards towards the extraction point.
In the end we got beaten but it made me realise that like darkgreenmeme says you need to be with a group that actually enjoys strategy and tactics rather than deathmatch style killing so I think I will give this a chance when I do play GTA Online, was lucky over the weekend that my connection allowed me on just now but I'm working on that!

Ya, I think most adversary modes are simply not for everyone just because of the COD obsession with KDR. I'm planning to post an essay about the problem with KDR obession in GTA Online sometime soon. I think they really need to replace the KDR display on the character cards with something else, perhaps a combined score of W/L ratios in deathmatches, AMs, LTSs, ect. It would remove the incentive to become a freemode griefer using dirty tricks like jet terrorism and suicide bombing. I mean, put the overall KDR on social club stats, but make it a little more difficult to look up for those obsessed with it.

I would be very interested to read that essay when you get round to it.
I agree, I suspect GTA Online would be a much nicer experience without the KDR, I mean I personally don't care about my wins/losses/KDR, they are what they are but people do seem to judge by these without actually knowing the players abilities.

I'm one of those players that really carers about the K/D ratio so I wouldn't want it to be removed or hidden. I don't try and play really dirty by committing suicide or abusing jets or anything like that but I'm always playing with K/D in mind when I'm in a deathmatch or LTS etc.
