Now we have a possibly interesting adversary mode here. So many interesting things added with this update, my mind is somehwat overwhelmed just reading about it all but I'll be partaking in this one asap.

I tried this one a couple of times last night and to my shame I didn't understand the concept of it at the time and ended up quitting both times as I couldn't get the checkpoints to register. I now realise I was probably supposed to go through them kind of in a formation line with the rest of my team all close on each others heels whereas I was just trying to go through them alone.

Yes that's how it's meant to work, formation is one of the keys part to complete this team based adversary mode. Have not played it myself but will be checking it out tomorrow.

There seems to be an emphasis on this with formation riding with your motorcycle club, some of the contract missions require the drivers to be close together else the mission fails.

Unfortunately, I had not got around to playing Slipstream until now, but I saved the video of the first time playing it:
So, ya I like it, but I think this mode is going to be condemned to niche status by racing communities, simply because it requires cooperative gameplay to win - and if your teammates are too stupid to understand the mechanics of the mode, you're not gonna win, and even if they do, and decide to be psychoidiot and kill other players to improve their KDR rather than helping their team to win the match, your team is not gonna win.

3 rounds of Slipstream II (lost the match)
Of course we lost this match because of the dude that wouldn't stay with the group.

Due to a friend that was obsessed with big payouts with bonuses on Slipstream, I ended up playing this for a couple of hours last night. Here's the final and third round in Slipstream VI, which has a lap that takes nearly 5 minutes. We went 2 rounds, 3 laps for a match that took around 45 minutes!? I queued the video to the payout screen - $201K
My tips for playing Slipstream in general: If there's no opponents around, drive straight and make it easy for your teammates to slingshot your slipstream. If you are ahead of your teammate, put your front wheel down to slow up if your teammate is lagging near the back of your circle so that they can catch up and catch your slipstream. If you get into the slingshot pattern, there's gonna be no beating your team.
If your team gets out of sync where one gets taken down or wrecks - be sure to take advantage of the boost when they catch up and are in range near the check point. The boost can be done while moving -- let off then hit R2 again.
I noticed that the ratings are kinda low for Slipstream, are players that bad with the concept of coop racing that they hate these matches?
