Just to put it out there since the bikers update there now seems to be big problems with survivals if playing with other people. They seem to be okay solo but with others the enemy spawn patterns are all messed up to the point of making it pretty much unplayable. For example the enemies won't come towards you properly anymore, sometimes the next batch just won't spawn in for ages, enemies frequently won't show up on the radar and they can spawn in really close to you now within a few feet which usually results in instant death. I realise some of these issues would occasionally happen before but now it is almost constantly wave after wave. I've submitted a ticket to Rockstar about it in case they aren't aware of the situation. I really wish that they would take just a month to fix the crap that is broken instead of adding new stuff. Crew logos stuck on cars, no locked races without a workaround, and losing outfits are probably my biggest peaves right now. But yep, we need to keep on them about the broken stuff.

I've been playing a bit more co op survival since my last post and the troubles since haven't been as bad as what I first experienced so not unplayable but there are certainly issues that make the survivals harder and more frustrating than before. Mainly with enemies spawning really close to you in a big cluster much more frequently than they ever did previously and enemies not coming towards you as much as they used to do when you are in cover.

I played Railyard Survival yesterday, and I have noticed a change. This one most players, including myself like to do from the railcar inside the shed when it gets heated in later rounds, but it seems that the NPCs don't make their way there anymore, and you have to go out and hunt them down. There seems to be one place by the crates to the southwest where one guy always gets stuck.

If you have time would you have a look at these embarrassing videos of me attempting Survival recently, it really seems they are mission impossible with other players? Processed:

By no means impossible with other players no although they are tougher now since the changes that seem to have come into effect since just before the Bikers update. You have to be a lot more cautious now as the enemies can spawn much closer to you than they once did. Sometimes this can even be literally a few feet from you and I've died myself a couple of times from this. Survivals can also have a slower pace to them now as the enemies don't always spawn in as quickly as they once did and you occasionally have to leave cover to get them spawning. The main thing you need to worry about is these occasions as sometimes they can spawn very close to you if you have to leave cover to get them to appear.
Generally speaking though if you are smart with your camping spots, are patient during the periods when you aren't getting many kills and pick and choose your moments of when to come out to try and get the enemies moving when need be then you can still complete them with others fairly easily depending on the map. One thing that really helps with survivals is to play in auto aim full so that you can target cycle between the enemies. Sometimes that in itself can save your skin if the enemies do spawn really close to you.
In regards to you performance in the Processed video you were dying mainly because you were being too reckless in where you were camping. I can do a video for this map if you want to talk about the best spots but the golden spot in my opinion is the one you were using for wave ten. With the helicopters as well my preference is always the minigun over the homing launcher as if you get good with that you can take them out very quickly whereas I find the homing launcher to be too unreliable and you can take a lot of damage whilst your waiting for the lock on to turn red.

Thank you for excellent analytical feedback pondnewt, I am back in solo training school for survivals now but what is this target cycle you speak of as I don't think I have ever had that work for me when playing on PS3 or PS4?

Although I haven't tried @pondnewts spots, I think this is the only one that I've never completed W10.

If you are playing in auto aim full then you can switch between enemies by using I think the right stick though I can't remember for sure if that is how you do it. It seemed to work better on the PS3 than the PS4 and I used to find survivals easier back then because of it but it is still usable on the PS4. I find that a lot of the time auto aim partial will kind of screw you over against npc's as it will lock on to an enemy sometimes that isn't the most imminent threat so with the cycle thing active you can switch to the one you want. Another thing with auto aim partial is that you will usually remain locked on to an enemy until he dies but if you knock an enemy to the floor from gunfire but don't actually kill him sometimes you may want to quickly switch to another enemy that is standing and firing at you and then come back to the fallen one later. In auto aim partial though it is much harder to do that.

Wow I'm surprised that you've never finished Processed as I think it is generally considered to be the easiest and most popular survival. Although I like doing survivals for the challenge, I don't go out of my way to do them other than daily objectives or joining a friend. Piracy Prevention pays $30K for 10 minutes, while a Survival completed to wave 10 can take much longer than that. But still, I'd like to try to get all of them solo eventually (with your guide), and perhaps the biggest challenge is to do them with minimal ammo costs by picking up weapons each round (by confining yourself to the available weapon pickups during the wave, saving the last enemy until you've refilled your ammo)

Del Perro Pier Survival:
It's pretty long, but I got in with some randoms that knew what they were doing and we made it through all 10 waves. Moonchild was the only one to survive all 10 waves without dying.
