I wonder if one of you fellow forum members might consider helping me out here regarding the control settings for GTA Online.
At present I once again seem to be struggling to get a control setting/sensitivity setting I am comfortable with when playing the game just now and it's frustrating me once again.
Ideally it would be nice if someone could upload screenshots showing the control setting pages allowing em to see what they have set the sliders to for shooting et all, at present I am on default which is too slow for deathmatches and free roam battles against NPC's but setting the bars to maximum is too quick and I end up missing the targets.
Any help on this would be grateful.
Controller is a standard PS4 Controller.

However, the biggest benefit (for me at least) is to set the look and aiming acceleration all the way up, so you can swing around and have a good chance of getting the guy sneaking up behind you. Still trying to get the aim behind thing committed to muscle memory ( R3, L2, then R2 fire) I just hate getting shot in the back.

I'm using the default setup ... I never got around to change it & eventually got used to it.
I can ask my brother if he is using a custom setup & upload a screen shot if you like.

That would be helpful but I'll also try darkgreenmeme's suggestion as well and see how that goes. I love this game so much but it just annoys the hell out of me when the controls can't react fast enough and I have a death that could have been avoided.

So here are those videos showing the problem with my controller in game modes.
This one from before the update shows me doing well (I think):
And this was last night's attempts to kill 5 players - in short pathetic!
I have to conclude it's me and the controller but I wish it weren't the case, I really don't know how best to stop wearing out control pads. Never had this before.

Well a final post on this subject but I believe I have managed to adjust the controller settings so I'm comfortable with the pad again for GTA Online.
Had a very enjoyable evening's worth of missions with a friend and now finally the end of the working week is close so I can get on with organizing my cars and some garage videos I want to share.

And this was last night's attempts to kill 5 players - in short pathetic! I just skimmed through the videos, but I would suggest avoiding owned-weapons deathmatches. You were playing against an RPG spammer that spent more on RPG rounds than he won in the match. You can't really fight back unless you are willing to spam RPGs as well at an economic loss. Just saying... I'm not sure what you mean by controller problems though, perhaps you could point out specific instances in the video?

That's good advice, the problem with the controller is that it seems my auto aim is always slightly off, it's difficult to pinpoint instances but when the guy shoots me as I'm hiding on the croner of the street I am aimed dead centre on his head and I miss completely (the bullets go slightly to the right). I'll see how it goes though, I am going to be doing a serious weekend of play because there's a lot I have to do.

From having a brief look at your videos I think you are struggling in deathmatches for perhaps a few reasons.
Firstly you seem to be using the assault rifle as your main weapon but this is the weakest of the rifles so you should be using something better such as the carbine or advanced rifle. Using the assault rifle just in itself will put you at a disadvantage against pretty much everyone else. If you are just using that gun because you want to unlock tints for it then your best bet is playing something like Trading places or a deathmatch where you can set it as the forced only weapon.
I could be wrong about this but I also get the impression that you aren't using your radar all that much. It is very important that you keep an eye on this in a deathmatch though. If anything I look at that more than I do what I'm seeing on the main screen as weird as that sounds. It is imperative that you know where your opponents are and they tend to pop up fairly often on the radar even if just for a second or two so you need to monitor it closely. Also on this topic one of your opponents in the second video kept spamming the Lester reveal. Whenever I go up against someone like that I always use it back against them whenever they do (when safe to do so) just so that they can't get the jump on me. I won't use it to hunt anyone down as such but just to make sure no one can sneak up on me.
A couple of other things would be to always wear a bullet proof helmet when doing a deathmatch (put in on just after the match begins if your worried about being kicked in the lobby for wearing none) and also I personally find simple aim is better than complex for getting headshots so maybe experiment with that.

Well I need to do something about this as I'm getting myself in such a state so thanks for your review.
As regards the radar if I understand you correctly what you are saying is the opponents should show up on my map when they are moving around or shooting? If so that never happens?
Quite often I will occasionally see a brief flash of red but almost always I never know where my enemies are on the map though I am going to take some time to have a look back at some DM videos and see what happens on the map in game now you've pointed this out.
The reason I never use reveal players is because I refuse to waste money put simply, I will never spend any money on Lester services unless I really have to and that's not something that will change, I firmly believe they are abused and I know the reasons they are there but there are simply a tool available, I choose not to use them and that's that.
Also as I just said sometimes I still don't see all the blips on the maps and if someone else reveals players should that not show for everyone on their team as again I never get an update on my map.
I'll have a look at the simple aim thing as well but as you will all see soon in bitch n moan video soon the problem is not getting any better.

In theory they will only show up on the radar in a few situations which would be if they fire an unsilenced weapon, are moving too quickly and being careless in their movements (like running around), are in a vehicle or if they are currently the power player. I don't think this is confirmed as something that happens for everyone but for me I also notice that players seem to show up on the radar if they go too far outside of the general location of where the deathmatch is taking place. So most of the time your opponents probably won't be on the radar but most players will pop up on it from time to time when they perhaps briefly start running to change location or whatever so it is good practice to always keep an eye on the radar so you can spot this when it happens. It will give you an idea of from which direction your enemies are likely to approach you from and will enable you to choose which piece of cover to try and put between you and them. Keep an eye on your own triangular blip on the radar as well and when it changes colour or you get a small circular shape around it that means you are potentially showing up on your opponents radar. I mentioned in theory at the beginning because sometimes I've noticed that for no apparent reason whatsoever the game will make you visible on the radar (you can tell because your triangle will turn red). Like you can be standing still in cover and you'll suddenly be on the radar for no reason without you being the power player or an opponent using the Lester reveal. I've noticed it happens mainly in one on one deathmatches. It is fairly rare though so you don't need to worry about that too much.
If one of your teammates uses the Lester reveal it will only reveal the opponents locations for them and not for any of their teammates. Most people will use it as an offensive measure instead of a defensive one like I usually do so in most cases when a teammate does it they will then hunt down the enemy so if you follow them they should lead you closer to the players on the other team. I strongly suggest that you use it yourself though if an opponent keeps using it or otherwise you'll just be at a disadvantage. Even if you loose the match you should make enough back to cover your costs for using it.
I forgot to say in my previous post that I think I know what you mean about the lock on being a bit funny sometimes and not very accurate. For me what occasionally happens is that the bullets will just sail harmlessly over the other players head (almost as if I'm going for a headshot and am overcompensating with the stick and shooting too high) but it will happen occasionally when I'm not even using the stick to try for a headshot. It's kind of annoying, it happened to me last night in fact during a game of Cross the Line. I think its just one of those little annoyances that crops up in the game from time to time that we can't really do anything about. A similar one would be how sometimes your reticle/crosshair can get greyed out for a moment for no apparent reason meaning you can't shoot for a few seconds until you slightly change position even though nothing in the scenery was blocking the shot.

That was again very helpful, thank you.
As it happens I was not aware of these little bits of info when it comes to playing deathmatch so I will keep all of that in mind.
I'll keep that in mind for Lester's ability, I don't play that much DM anyway so it's not something I will use much.
I had that very experience again last night as several times during Power Play I was aimed dead on an enemy and pummeling them with bullets from the Special Carbine and no death.
Seems the feedback I get from what I see on screen is a little delayed as couple of times in Power Play now I've been killed when the player seems to still be in the forward roll animation etc.
I'm just going to keep working away, I have a feeling it's only a matter of time before I have to replace the controller or charging cable anyway as it was not charging up very well yesterday when I shut down for the night.

Yeah, the old "radar in DMs" thread. I noticed the same thing while watching your videos. I get the feeling the game makes you visible as you respawn and if you stand still for too long (aside from the obvious one when an enemy has you in his line of sight). That´s why unless you hold a very advantageous position you usually need to keep moving. But that´s just a feeling i get, i can´t confirm it. As for the enemies, they appear on your radar in pretty much every situation pondnewt described. That´s why you´ll see experienced players run in one direction and as soon as they stop being visible switch directions so that they bait you into going for them where you assumed they´d be. Finally, the aiming thing... yes, something doesn´t quite add up with that. My personal feeling is that they adapt the aim to the accuracy and kickback of the weapon, and our mind is tricked bc we have a visual representation of the aim (i don´t know the word for that little dot in english). As far as accuracy goes it could make sense, as you get the same dot for a shotgun than for a pistol or a rifle. Kickback should only start mattering after the first shot. However i don´t know enough about the game´s programming to be sure about that
