I personally prefer traffic in races, since it makes it a lot more challenging.

It depends. Since your races are mostly themed street races, traffic makes a lot of sense in them. In a proper supercar circuit it doesn't. It also depends on the amount of players and the traffic spawns on the particular track. Some R* created races can be hell with five randoms and traffic, they can already be annoying without traffic.

Not really a fan of traffic in races myself. I always turn it off if I remember if I'm hosting or racing solo. I think it should be off as the default but for many races it seems to be on unless you change it manually.

Depends on a lot of things, for me if it's a long freeway race then traffic on can work, however for 99% of standard races I turn it off, would probably put it on more if it was not so damn laggggggy !!

When I design races (the street races) I try to design them with traffic in mind. Usually I set the default time to night, which minimizes traffic. It would be nice if the traffic level was a creator option like it is for lTS and captures.
I'm not sure when they did this, but it used to be if you had a racer with a laggy connection, they would disable traffic -- now it does this weird merging thing which causes the random explosions. Lag can be a problem in any contact race whether traffic is on or not.

I do like traffic in races, makes it more fun ... Especially in Highways.

One of the reasons I like traffic races:

So this is one really aggravating bug, and I really don't understand how it happens. It has happened to me more than a few times, but the clip below shows how I really got screwed with a traffic syncing error, which normally only happens when a you have a really bad lagger in the session.
Here I am, doing a personal time trial with a traffic race, then a player, which I do not know, starts spectating my session. When this happens, I usually notice traffic sync errors, but this time, a car spawned right underneath mine. I'm still perplexed as to how/why someone that I don't know would find me and want to spectate my race of one, but it has happened more than a few times.
Yes, NPC dude that said "Holy Shit", I was thinking the exact same thing...

It also happens during the Fleeca job missions, Its really annoying. I think Its due to sketchy connections. As for how s\he managed to find you, my theory is the Quick Job, Race. If they don't join before you start, They get the option to watch ... Happens mostly with DMs & LTSs

Yes I think this is how it works as many times I have been given the option to spectate the player on the job but I always cancel it.
I believe this is why a lot of people have spectate player disabled by default as it can improve your connection to the game when in public lobbies and job activities.

I assume that if he was doing a time trial though then he didn't actually invite anyone.

I think it happens when someone tries to join via Quick Job as you hit start\continue to start a race or a mission, regardless of the matchmaking status. It happened to me before in both scenarios. I was the Racer\Mission player & I had the option to spectate.
