One thing that I think a lot of players don't know is that on the Insurgent Pick-up (and the turreted limo as well), the gunner can retreat into the cab when weak, or if the driver needs to go over rough road by hitting right on the d-pad. If both rear seat passengers are inside of the cab, either one can man the gun by also hitting right on the d-pad.

I bought both variants half a year after Heists came out. Always refused to get one. I think the normal Insurgent looks stupid, like a can on wheels. But well, it is the go-to car for VIP work, since it offers enough protection against people on foot and NPCs and especially against jets. People who use an Insurgent pick-up in freeroam are usually dead within a few seconds. Might be different on free-aim, but it's actually completely useless in assisted-aim PvP.

True if you use it to go to battle. For escape, and avoiding being killed by jets and attack helicopters (you must find safety before it can take anymore explosive rounds) there's nothing better. Taking out Insurgent pickups is pretty easy if the driver and gunner are naive, since they probably don't consider the glass is not bullet-resistant. Usually an assault shotgun will take an insurgent pickup crew out in a few seconds if the driver is dumb enough to come close. It's best to use it at a distance, near the end of the range of the mounted gun. The driver should be ducking when not shooting, and the gunner should be retreating and healing up when getting shot up. |

It offers decent protection against Fighter Jets, Attack Helicopters & RPG launchers .... However, its a fair game against proficient players.

Well I finally got round to my Insurgent shopping list on Wednesday and now every one of my characters has their Insurgent pickup truck which I am sure
is going to come in handy during the new Freemode Event Week currently underway.
It is perhaps one of my favourite all round vehicles as I like the look of it and I love the sound of the stock horn and it certainly shunts traffic out of
the way without a problem.

Well I finally got round to my Insurgent shopping list on Wednesday and now every one of my characters has their Insurgent pickup truck which I am sure is going to come in handy during the new Freemode Event Week currently underway. It is perhaps one of my favourite all round vehicles as I like the look of it and I love the sound of the stock horn and it certainly shunts traffic out of the way without a problem. I think the turreted limo is the best out of the turreted vehicles, as it has the bullet resistant glass but I've only got one character with that one. In PvP situations, it's pretty easy to take out Insurgent occupants, since the Insurgent driver is usually either naive or stupid and drives up real close instead of staying near the range limit of the turreted gun, and you can take 'em all out with an assault shotgun from cover. Perhaps the best use of any turreted vehicle is doing Headhunter with one associate. Using a Buzzard may be faster, but that gets pretty boring - and the Insurgent pickup is better in situations where players are attempting to defend the targets. I haven't had the opportunity to do this much as it requires at least 2 associates, but Special Cargo missions where you convoy with a turreted vehicle is quite fun when the little pricks in gaudy shiny chrome super cars come driving up with their arms out the windows holding sticky bombs. Apparently, you don't have to pay insurance when you blow up another player's personal vehicle during these missions. |

To be honest I have not used the turreted vehicles much in game as I like to maintain my "lone crusader" in free roam approach (Knight Rider style)
That said I see a lot of people have bought the Insurgent at 50% off as I have had a few people ramming me off the road and then attempting to kill my
characters in the past couple of days in free roam and it does act as good cover in missions because the enemy AI seem to struggle to hit you if you are
crouched behind an Insurgent.
