"Land is the most valuable asset of them all and you can't afford to let any wannabe invaders encroach upon yours. Occupy is the latest addition to GTA Online, where victory is obtained by securing and holding capture zones across the map and fending off the circling vultures on the other team. It's also pretty important to know what you're doing with a flying attack bike, but don't get distracted; whichever team holds more zones will gain points faster and the first team to hit the target score wins the round. Time to see who really runs this town."
Discuss the new Occupy adversary mode.

My first play of Occupy I:
Game mechanics: you team has to have one teammate enter the base to occupy it, which starts a timer. I think the timer keeps going if noone is there, and you have to eliminate the other team from the base and at least temporarily occupy it to get the timer going in your favor. A round is won when a team gets to the target score.

So I've played quite a few rounds now. Some more observation on the game mechanics:
When killed, you will respawn elsewhere not close to the base you were at.
Players seem to be more off the radar than you might expect in a regular deathmatch, so it can be frustrating not seeing it coming.
You can pick up weapons by driving through them.
Strategy: Rush to claim bases that don't belong to your team as the #1 priority. Since you may not see the defenders, actually take a good look around before going in. It's a good idea to rocket or grenade the base before going in to claim it to eliminate unseen defenders.
Once the base is claimed, either rush off to claim another, or take up a position away from the base to defend it.
RPG and Grenade Launchers are the most useful for clearing out base defenders. Railguns are available, but you need to be more accurate with those.
You spawn on an oppresser, which can be useful to defending a base from a high vantage point.
