"Reach The Top, Build An Empire" ― Rockstar Games.
Here's a breakdown of the Special Cargo business.
The Offices:
There are 4 Executive Offices in Del Perro & Downtown Los Santos ranging from $1,000,000 to $4,000,000 to choose from. All offices have the same interior, you're just paying for the location, prestige & helipad convenience. Office upgrades & renovations include Decoration, Weapon Locker, Safe (purely cosmetic), Private Quarters, Executive Garages that holds up to 60 personal vehicles & a Private custom shop that allows you to customize\modify your personal vehicles in-house, including Benny Conversions. Notes:
1. Executive Offices are necessary to take advantage of any SecuroServ-related activities such as Special Cargo, Special Items, Vehicle Cargo, Special Vehicle Work & Some of the VIP Work jobs. 2. Owning an Office provides access to your own executive assistant, who provides services such as Luxury Helicopter Ride & Picking up your impounded vehicle. The Warehouses:There are 22 Warehouses across Los Santos to choose from, ranging in capacity from Small (16 crates) to Medium (42 crates) & Large (111 crates). You are paying for capacity & location. Both capacity & location plays a big roll here, so choose wisely. You can own up to 5 warehouses of all sizes. Note: Once you upgrade to a bigger warehouse, you can't downgrade to a smaller one. you can either trade for a same size warehouse or bigger. The Special Cargo:
Once you own an office & a warehouse you can start dealing in Special Cargo by buying it using the SecuroServ Terminal in your office. you can either buy a single crate (for $2,000) of special cargo, 2 crates (for $8,000) or 3 crates (for $18,000). Payment, Mission time & difficulty all depends on the amount of cargo you purchase every time. Purchasing a single crate at a time is the most cost effective, but also the most time consuming to fill a large warehouse. Special Cargo have a Profit Multiplier, the more you own & sell at one transaction, the more profit you stand to make ... reaching up to $2,200,000 for a fully stocked large warehouse.
There's a 3 minutes cooldown between every purchase transaction for each warehouse, there are 2 schools of thought on how to circumvent the cool down: 1. The VIP method: Happens by starting a VIP work, usually HeadHunter after each delivery to pay for the crates. 2. The 2-Warehouse method:
Happens by rotating by 2 warehouses to avoid the cooldown, it stands to make more profit than the VIP method at the end, but at the expense of the time it takes to do it.
Here's financial breakdown of the sale transactions: Warehouse Size
| Capacity
| Revenue
| Profit @ 1 Crate Purchase
| Profit @ 2 Crates Purchase | Profit @ 3 Crates Purchase | Operating costs @ 1 Crate Purchase | Operating costs @ 2 Crates Purchase | Operating costs @ 3 Crates Purchase | Small | 16 Crates
| $240,000 | $208,000 | $176,000 | $148,000
| $32,000
| $64,000 | $92,000 | Medium | 42 Crates
| $735,000 | $651,000 | $567,000 | $483,000 | $84,000 | $168,000 | $252,000 | Large | 111 Crates
| $2,200,000
| $1,998,000 | $1,752,000 | $1,554,000 | $222,000
| $442,000 | $666,000 |
Notes:
1. The numbers above calculated based on selling the entire stock of Special Cargo in one transaction. 2. Special Cargo work requires Public Sessions. 3. There's an additional "High-Demand" bonus that can be obtained by selling in populated sessions, its 1% bonus for every rival player in the session. 4. There's a 30 minutes cooldown between each sale transaction. 5. The downside of Special Cargo work is that it fills your office with samples of "Product" & loose cash, up to $30,000,000 in loose cash can be inside your office depending on how much you profited from the Special Cargo.
The delivery vehicles during sale missions are Brickade(s), Cuban800(s), Titan & a Tug boat. The amount of vehicles provided during sale missions depends on how much cargo you are selling in one transaction. you can get a up to 3 Brickades or Cuban800 airplanes per sale ... however, you'll get a single Titan (reserved for large amounts of Cargo, usually 42 crates & up) or Tug boat. The Special Items:
Special Items are rare items that can be sold for a much higher profit than Special Items, but they are more expensive to purchase. There are 6 Special Items & the chance of getting them increases with the amount of Special Cargo you purchase. You can obtain up to 6 different Special Items at a time. Name
| Purchase Price
| Sale Price
| Ornamental Egg | $25,000 | $125,000 | Golden Minigun
| $23,000
| $115,000 | Large Diamond
| $27,000 | $135,000 | Rare Hide
| $21,000 | $105,000
| Film Reel
| $23,000
| $95,000 | Rare Pocket Watch
| $30,000 | $150,000
|
Note:
1. There's NO High-Demand bonus for selling Special Items. 2. Special Items cannot be sold in a single transaction with regular Special Cargo.
The Vehicle Workshop:
It allows you to upgrade your sale vehicles with important upgrades such as Armor. The Plane Armor upgrade is quite essential & highly recommended ($190,000). The Raids:
Warehouse raids occur once you stock of Special Cargo exceeds 80% per warehouse. There are 2 types of raids. 1. The Vagos broke into your warehouse & loaded the cargo into a Mule. You have to trace the Mule before the trail goes cold, steal & bring it back to your warehouse. 2. a Merryweather team is stealing your cargo, you have to stop them before they loot all of your stock. Note: If you fail to defend your warehouse or retrieve your stolen cargo, you could lose all the stock stored in the raided warehouse.
The SecuroServ Statues:
They are decorative statues earned by progressing in the Special Cargo work, Unlocked by downing an x amount of successful purchase transactions. Trophy Type
| Transactions Required
| Plastic Trophy
| 50 | Glass Trophy
| 100
| Bronze Trophy
| 250
| Silver Trophy
| 500
| Gold Trophy
| 1,000
|
Note: A successful transaction is defined as successfully completing a buy mission, Each buy mission counts as one transaction regardless of how much crates you buy.

While it may appear to be more profitable to fill up a warehouse one crate at a time, time is a factor. In my experience, it takes an average of 7 real-time minutes to do a pickup. Some of the multi-crate pickups really require associates to help, otherwise you have to go back 1 or 2 times to pickup the other crates and they are in danger of destruction by other players.
Anyway, assuming a nominal sale price of $10K per crate, a 1 crate pickup is $8K profit, 2 crate pickup is $12K profit, and a 3 crate pickup is $22K.

True true, that's why you have to manage the warehouses depending on your free time. I hear 2-Crate pickups are the sweet-spot for both profits & connivance. The 1-crate pickup is good if you are doing it on the a side to fill up a 3rd warehouse between cool downs & VIP work to have it as collateral for a rainy day.

Whoa!
Hold on a minute, I'm finally awake in the CEO stakes! Am I seeing that we get 2.2 million if we sell a full large warehouse???

Whoa! Hold on a minute, I'm finally awake in the CEO stakes! Am I seeing that we get 2.2 million if we sell a full large warehouse??? Keep in mind, that assuming 7 minutes per cargo pickup, and you have a crew to help you with the 3 crate pickups, you are looking at around 4.5 real time hours to fill a large warehouse. But that does work out to $8K gross profit (about $4K net) per real time minute for the CEO at least. Assuming no fuck-ups, that does pay better than Piracy Prevention.

Fair enough, am just weighing up my options here for how I proceed with my game when I return, possibly not so] worthwhile for me as I am only doing CEO work solo but still worth me considering.

Thanks for that info! I guess this work really does have it's rewards at the end of the day and seems the only way I can manage to obtain the expensive things I still need to buy.
Am probably going to return for a bit over this weekend as got a free weekend so will see how it goes playing then.

To maximize your profits, you can do VIP work & sell modded cars between purchases... That way you make money while you are making money (insert Xzibit meme here). However, if you need money quickly... VIP work is the way to go, if planned right, you could make around 1 million every 4 hours.

Interesting, roll on the weekend when I can get down to some serious work. I've decided to bite the bullet, this update kinda overwhelemed me at the huge expense to own everything (I like to have everything in my game for collecting purposes) but with 4 characters and 1 secret one this is one heck of a lot of money to spend/obtain but now you have all given me some insights/a plan to go with, more on this later.

I'd wait two more weeks before purchasing any expensive stuff I were you. RockStar did 50% off on almost everything as part of the Independence Day celebrations in the past two years, if history repeats itself, they'll do it again this year ... Fingers crossed , I'm hoping for that.

Indeed, I was remembering that, it would be good to get some of this new content at 50% off, here's hoping we found it's Independance Day week next week and everything is unlocked again.

Oh man I hope its not next week! I'm broke (currently sitting at 2.54m, but I need at least 3 times that) & I can't play until at least early morning July 2nd! Or at least they return to Friday-To-Friday event weeks.
